A friend of mine stopped over last night and gave me a present. He no longer plays and wants the guitar played. I have spent an hour or so on the web trying to find this model with no success. It is a double 6 string gray stamped metal body with the large horseshoe magnets. The Rick logo is similar to the logos found on the thirties models. Any ideas on the model? I am going to string it up this week. What tunings/gauges do you suggest?

It sounds like you have a NS-style D12. These are relatively rare; there are far more double eight string steels out there. Does it look like two of these stuck together?

Thank you Brad....It is two of those stuck together. The strings on it look like they've been on it for a long time. but the guitar itself is near mint. No case. Any suggestions on string gauges/tunings?
Thanks

I'd probably go with either open G or open E on one neck and C6/Am7 on the other.

Open G:
D
B
G

B
G

Open E:
E

E

E

C6/Am7:

C
A

E
C

Check the Just Strings web site for string gauges, etc. (look under Guitar)

Guys,
I am thinking about selling this to help finance other guitar purchases. I have no idea what I should ask. Ballpark figures?
