Anybody have any idea why the Fender Steel King amps sound so good with a Peavey BW 1501 speaker. This combination really sounds good for pedal steel. The FSK is also lighter to carry around with a 1501.

I haven't tried it--there's enough about the stock speaker that I like that until I have the time to burn doing the swap, I'll just stay with it. But the FSK does have an edge to it. Just like the BW works well with a paint-peeling Evans FET 500 Custom, I think that the BW smooths or rolls off some highs and therefore is a good choice with amps that could use some high-end taming.

Yes indeed! I can, at times, turn my treble up to 1.5 on my Evans. But then the paint does start to peel and I have to turn it back down.

The 1501's sound great in every application I have tried. Although the Eclipse & Eminence Delta speakers are now my preference.

I have tried the BW1501 with my FSK. In simple terms the BW made the FSK sound like a Peavey which is great. The FSK speaker made it sound like a Fender. Take your pick. The weight was similar to me. JMHO.
