swapping 500 k for 250 k pot???

into a pedal with 2 250 k pots...this is a Goodrich with "taper" control... should I try it or just pull the taper control out and have a normal 500 k volume pedal???.. will the taper and volume be correct with the 500 k pot in the "main" position????bob

Put in the 500k with the taper pot unhooked. If you don't like the result, you can hook up the taper pot and see if that corrects the issue.
