Dobro Dick" Davenport...whereabouts?

I bet it was 25 years ago at least when I last ran into this guy. I heard him play at a fiddle contest in Vermont and was blown away by his swinging style. I knew very little about Dobro playing at the time but it was easy to recognize this gent's talent. He claimed to be an itinerant musician from Wyoming or Montana and that he was making his summer rounds before heading back to Big Sky country for the off-season. Of course this could have been some sort of romantic tale he was weaving but despite that, I'd love to know if anyone else ever encountered "Dobro Dick".
