We had our monthly KSGA meeting today and one of our members had a St Louis Music Amplifier Stand. It was the best amp stand I have seen. I took the name and thought I could locate one on the WEB but I have given up after an hour of trying. Does anyone know of a Website or a place I can contact to order one. It has height and angle adjustments. Very sturdy.

Any Ampeg or Crate dealer can order it - those are made by St. Louis Music. Musician's Friend, which is owned by guitar Center, should be able to sell you one - you might check their website and see if shows up...if not, call them. |

Thanks guys for the info. I searched those sights to no avail. The reviews told me that they are not what I want. I currently have something like that but sturdier. I think I will call a person who will have the owner's ph# and try to get the info on how he got his. I was just hoping that someone on the forum had one and the info on who to contact. |

I don't like to suggest business be taken away from our guys like Seymour, etc. but I ran across an amp stand that is really priced right and it has all the features one could want. You can find it at:

Fred, I have two of those stands, work well and hold up. However mine have a tag on them that says "Adam". Probably from the same factory in China, just different name tag. |

Fred, I have a couple of stands for my Steel Kings that look almost identical to the ones you are talking about. They were made by Pevey, great stands but they were a bit higher in price ($50.00) Boy, you can't beat the price of $15.00

I can't sell you the amp stand, but I work for that company. Any local dealers should be able to order it for you. Have them call 800-727-4512 and ext 296 for Chris Clauson for MO dealers. SLM sells to dealers only. |

I'd take Jerry's advice and get the one you're looking for...I just can't imagine an SLM product can't be located at any of their normal dealers...although sometimes with the Sam Ash/GC "big box" stores you need to find a manager.
The cheap one is not a bad stand, but there is one thing I don't like (I had one and got rid of it) - the amp sits on metal bars. I like the amp resting on rubber/plastic "bumper" ends to keep it from getting damaged; it also rattles less at high volume. With the $26 Chinese one low notes would vibrate the amp on the frame - not good.
I've settled on a Quik Lok - the amp floats on 4 "bumpers", the angle is easily adjustable and it'll hold anything from a Princeton to a Twin Reverb. Also very compact when folded. |

Just one word of caution on the one my buddy Phred suggested -- some amps fit on the stand better than others. My NV112 works great on that stand but my Standels (single 15 -- about the size of a Session 400) require a piece across the top of the stand because the two uprights that support the back of the amp don't contact the top back plate on the amp. It never actually fell through (thank God) but, leaning back, it sure looked unstable to me. I just velcro a piece of plywood to the top of the metal uprights and it works great. Can't beat the price. Folds up pretty nicely too. I'm sure there are better stands out there but, for the price, this is the best one I've found.
