As a retired electrician I can tell you that proper grounding goes beyond the scope of this Forum for sure.
This I can say for sure, a properly wired service entrance panel would likely have a #6 copper (for a 200 amp service) going to two ground rods driven in earth at not closer than 6 feet between them. The grounded conductor must not be broken but run continous (looped thru the acorn connector at the first ground rod. There are other grounding methods in the NEC, but this is the most common for residential applications. Any copper for water service in the house must be bonded to the panels ground buss bar with #4 copper. This is not the grounding means for the electrical system but a bonding requirement of the code.
