I'm slogging my way slowly through endless beginneritude, so maybe I don't know Pro Hookup 101 on this topic. I have a DTR-2 tuner that I have hooked up between volume pedal output and amp input. No other effects or outboard devices. The tuner seems to be killing the highs. I've swapped out cables all over the place but it seems that the tuner is the culprit. My volume pedal (Goodrich 122) only has in and out jacks (although I think I've seen others that have separate tuner-out jacks). Should I have the tuner elsewhere in the chain (not many options I can see because most of the time, especially late at night) I'm going into a MicroCube with headphones occupying the output jack)?

Ben,
I have had the same experience. If my signal goes thru a tuner, it hurts my sound. I think most of the tuner mfg know this now. Best way is to send signal to the tuner, not thru.

One way is to plug the tuner into the second "out" on the volume pedal. Don't send the signal thru the tuner, just send the signal to the tuner. Sometimes this will still cause a ruckus with my sound.

I keep my tuner ready, with a guitar cable attached, and plug into the second "out" on my volume pedal when I want to check my tuning.

There are other ways, but it starts costing $ and gets more complex.

Hope this helps.

Ron
