After 3 years of hard plaing my AB volume pot went bad. I drilled a 3/16ths hole in it and sprayed electronics cleaner into it. Its as good as new.

Kevin,

When I drill one I drill as slowly as is practical and hold the pot and drill so that I have to drill upward so to decrease the chance of allowing any of the shavings inside of the case.

Also, it makes it handy to drill the hole so that it can be accessed easily when it is in the pedal.

A 'shot' from a hot-glue gun can cover the hole, sealing it from outside moisture, etc.

I also drilled my pot cover but took the cover off the pot first.I give it a quick burst of cleaner/lubricant every now and then and it's done the job for the last nine months. I cover the hole with a small piece of duct tape to keep out the dust, works perfectly.
