I'd like to borrow, from an SoCal player, Keith Hilton's Digital Sustain accessory, to try in combination with a Hilton pedal. This is the final part of my Volume Pedal Death Match begun a number of weeks ago (here's the link):

Thanks for anyone who can assist me with this.

Btw, both the Goodrich LDR2 and the Hilton pedal are better than any pot pedal. I'm testing the very finer points of each now.

Not everyone would agree with that statement! (Many pros still prefer a pot pedal.)

John - You do know that the Hilton pedal has the Digital Sustain circuitry built in, don't you?

John, what will we all do if the pot pedal wins?

Barry:
It wont. Period.

I know the pedal already has the same circuit, but the DS unit offers variable gain, vs set gain in the VP. So I'm checking that out.

I'm actually wishing Keith offered the pedal WITHOUT the circuit built in, so you could get variable gain with his DS unit, and there'd be no conflicts between pedal and DS outboard unit.

The loaner Hilton pedal I have has less gain, thus is not quite as punchy, as the LDR2. It may be a pedal needing tweaking (which, btw, Keith offer to do for free, his customer service is beyond reproach); it may be dialed into parity with the LDR2 via the outboard DS unit; and the VP itself can have its gain boosted by Keith, if the player so desires it. Those are the variables I'm working with, trying to determine which VP is best suited for ME, at least. Your mileage may vary.

I had no idea when I started this
"science project" that this test of volume pedals would get so complicated!

If some local player can loan me their Hilton Digital Sustain unit, I'd be most appreciative.

No one in Los Angeles area owns one of these and willing to loan it out for a week or so? Oh well...
