The Commonwealth 15??.. handles 225 watts, 7 year warrantee,...CHEAP!!!! and sounds like a JBL D130..... hmmmm...sounds WAY too good to be true, but I am about to bite and buy one.. Anyone with first hand experience??.. I know several guys were talking about trying these out, so I figured I would ask... If it sounds close to a D 130, I'm in.. If its more like a BW 1501 I'll pass.. any help would be appreciated... bob |

I put a Commonwealth 15" in my Webb recently.
Dramatically different than the JBL E130 that was in it. I got it since I like the speaker in the FSK so much and I understand the Commonwealth is essentially the same speaker. Still need to take it out on a job and tweak around with before I can truly evaluate the effect the speaker has on the Webb.

My ears aren't as fresh as they use to
be but I think the Commonwealth is a
excellent match for the old JBL's.
I have old D130's and this new Commonwealth
and I can't tell the difference. Honest.

The Deltalite's are only 6 lbs. I recently switched to the Kappalite's for the extra wattage rating. 450 watts (900 program) at 7 lbs. They both sound excellent.

I can't testify about this, but I heard that the Peavy 112 that everyone is raving about has a Blue Marvel speaker in it! I heard that it is an Eminence speaker.
Does anyone know the facts???? |

I put one in an Evans last week end and absolutely loved it! It's so close to the D-130 its spooky. It's a little hard on the back is my only problem...heavy son of a gun. My 2 cents...Bill |

I installed one in a closed/sealed 115 cab made by SScabs (available on eBay) and am very pleased with the results. I chose a sealed enclosure based on information from the Eminence website under Support:
"As a general guideline, Qts of 0.4 or below indicates a transducer well suited to a vented enclosure. Qts between 0.4 and 0.7 indicates suitability for a sealed enclosure. Qts of 0.7 or above indicates suitability for free-air or infinite baffle applications."
The Commonweath 15 has a Qts of .53
I'm driving it with a POD XT Pro and a Stewart World 1.2.

With the tone shaping of the PODxt (which I use), I just can't see hauling around a boat anchor speaker any more. Just no need for it.
The Eminence neodymium's do the job for me.
I need the 8 ohm, but it would be great if they
made a 4 ohm version for others who prefer that. |
