I got this 40's Vega Amp on ebay, it needed work but looks like it's right from the showroom floor, some 63? years later. This is the Triumphal model. I sent it to Ken Fox who replaced the caps and power cord and added a fuse, doing the work with no schematics or other information. Ken estimated the power at 25 watts. It has more volume than I had expected, a 12" speaker and a clean warm tone. Thanks to Ken Fox for doing his magic!
If anyone has information on these beautiful maple face amplifiers and specically the Triumphal model let me know!!

I like it!

Can you provide some contact info for Mr. Fox?
It's always good to pad the 'A' list.

Thanx!

That was a fun one, Bill! What a neat amp and a great tone to boot. Almost every cap in the amp was bad or way out of range. The speaker is a field coil Jensen that appears to have been reconed, beautifully if I might add. Super amp, even has the original canvas cover. There is one on Ebay now with 2-6V6 tubes and a 10" speaker. This little fellow of Bill's sported 6L6G tubes, 5V4 rectifier and a 12" speaker. It is amazing to see an amp of that age so well kept.
