First time it's ever happened, and the last with this POS.
It was going against my ear to begin with and I got to checking frets on my G&L. To my horror, I found 20 cent differences between frets. Some higher, some lower, and not just the first fret.
In a panic, I checked all my guitars, and found that they were not reading right either.
THEN, I started checking individual notes at different octaves and on different strings.
The Cs were all reading 20 cents flat, the G#s 20 cents sharp. Not at the first fret either. All other similar notes were the same distance off on different strings and frets.
I honestly have NEVER had this happen.
I plugged in my DT3 Korg I'd used for ten years previous, and everything was dead on, and every fret read within a cent or two of where I'd set them up. All guitars.
Note that I said that the tuner was going against my ear, and I immediately checked it.
Maybe somebody snuck in a Just Intonation Virus.
This GT12 is on it's way to the garbage can tonight.
I use a tuner for reference, and often, but I thought it was interesting that I noticed when it went against my ear.
It started last week in earnest when I checked notes that I let ring against my tone center while playing with the band. Some were sharp when I looked at them, some flat.
I'm used to noting a discrepancy of a couple cents from doing it for half my life. I've known for some time my preference for hearing 12 equal notes, and this pretty much tied it for my use of a tuner only as a reference.
A heads up for this Korg GT12 beast though.
Maybe the power supply I used for it overamped it.
Hmm..
I'm thinking three points if I get it in the garbage can from across the room.
