Here are some pix of my custom built Nashville 112 cabinet. I completed it yesterday. It's the same size as the Peavey, except the top is straight across like the Nashville 400 and will protect the knobs better.
I used 1X12 ash wood for the cabinet (the next step up from the cheap pine that Lowes has)and the finished weight is 39 lbs. There is no detectable change in tone.

WOW Jack, super professional looking piece of equipment. It really looks great and because I'm a "black" 112 owner, I'm jealous as hell. Good idea on the top over the knobs. Lots of problems with the unprotected knobs on the standard cabinet.

Jack you're an artist. Great choice of materials, colors and design. Very handsome. Even the Peavey logo looks great on it. Perfecto!

Not necessarily. The Nashville 112 cabinet is the same as several other Peavey models as well. Peavey MAY make a new cabinet design, but that would be an added expense for them.
On a like note: The Steel King is actually in the old Bassman 60 cabinet. Same dimensions. It is more cost effective that way.

Super nice job, Jack.
I don't know how accurate the color is in these photos but if it is pretty close, I can tell you that I'd like that even better with a coat of orange shellac over the top of the tweed. But that's me. |

That's a very nice piece of work and would also seem very practical for anyone who preferred a suitable quality 15” speaker!

Ray, I wish I could make the Tuesday jam's at Bill Owens place, but not this year (and no St Louis this year) with the gas prices.
This is a "one time" cabinet. I don't plan on making anymore. Actually, it was going to be my "summer project" but because I'm going in for surgery on June 21st and I'll be out of commission for a while I got it done early.

Jack-I want to compliment you on that amp cabinet. Just beautiful and practical. Also the weight at 39 lbs sounds better than 42lbs. Now if we can get it down to 30lbs, I'll buy one.
