I Just read, In the liner notes of one of Tom Morrell's "How the West was Swung" masterpieces, about a 1946 Bob Wills radio transcription of Noel Boggs playing "On the Alamo". I've checked the ALLMUSIC GUIDE and a few other places, but haven't turned anything up. Was it ever released commercially?
I'd be thankful for any information any of you might be able to give me!

I can only find it on cassette, not on CD. The American Gramophone and Wireless Company has it on volume 6 of their version of the Tiffany Transcriptions. Tom Bradshaw has Noel Boggs' own version on a cassette as well.

Thanks, Brad. Both look like great sources for some very hard-to-find stuff. Guess they're not hard to find now....

Alvino Rey did a beautiful solo with his big band rendition of "On the Alamo" in 1939.I believe it is still available...al

Hey Kevin,
Herb Steiner does a fine job with this tune on his new CD. You can tell that he is a fan of Noel.
