a discontinued product this was a chromatic tuner that had a display that mounted next to the neck on a six string guitar and was hooked into the onboard electronics so you could tune right at the guitar.

has anyone had any experience with these?

Dave:I have one installed in my Strat,it's been in there for about 10 years. It works well..it takes two batteries each about the size of a quarter. The best way to wire it is direct from the pickups...so if you turn down the volume control the tuner will still work.I don't know why they discontinued them
