Message for Mike Brown:

Mike please tell me what year they made the Encore 65? Just a super duper lead guitar amp. Will they ever make them again? Thanks, Denny

The Encore 65 was manufactured in the mid '80's and will not return as the "Encore 65 II". However, some ideas/technology is carried over to other products.

I have one of them. Neat amp with tubes...
65 Watts, pair of 6L6GC's. Schamatic date is October 1983. I recapped mine last year.
They have an unusual component in the schematic. They use several Vactrol Analog Isolators in the circuit, and they ain't your ordinary electronics parts store parts.

Wow! Man, 65 watts from a pair of 6L6's is really pushin it! No wonder they have a special circuit.

I have a MusicMan RP112 combo with 2 x 6L6s, and that says 100 watts RMS on the chassis! I thought that output wasn't possible from 2 valves, but it certainly has a LOT more headroom than the Fender Concert (60 watt) I used to own...?
