I've been using my volume pedal exclusively for vocal sounds together with my slide during the past year. Maybe it's time again to take out the wah and work a little more with that. I'm thinking Earl Hooker type wah and slide work. Then I can use either of the two depending on the situation.

Terje,
Have you checked out Chuck Campbell ?
Chuck also has a DVD that shows how he uses a wah for sale.
As far as advanced use of the wah wah goes the Sacred Steel guys really have it together.

I recorded this last week with my Boss V-Wah using the Morley setting. The guitar is an Asher Ben Harper lap steel:

The tune is "Wah Wah Jam". I also used some overdrive.
+1 on Chuck Campbelll and the Sacred Steel players, especially the ones that come from the "Jewel Dominion" tradition. The Morley wah is a big part of their tone. Chuck Campbell uses the Boss V-Wah by the way.

Gotta check out that dvd with Chuck Campbell, thanks for the tip. I am aware of his wah work and I think it's excellent.
Bill, that was a cool wah track. Wah and slide are a match made in heaven, that's for sure. |

I bought a neo-surf CD fron the forum called "Danger High" by Double Naught Spy Car, and Paul Lacques does a great job with effects. There's a wah song called "Helicopter" that gets regular airtime in my house. |
