Is the Black Widow 12" speaker suitable for steel use? I notice that that Nashville 112 uses a special Blue Marvel speaker instead, so that made me wonder.

Thanks.

Al

Al, I'm using BW 1203-8 (8 ohm models but they also make 4 ohm models) in my rack system. They are the same speakers that Peavey used in their Nashville 112E speaker cabinets that were used by Jeff Newman and other steel guitar players.

The Nashville 112 amp was originally intended for a "practice" amp and was designed for size and weight and probably price. If they would have used a BW speaker it would have increased the weight and price.

I tried one of the D-120F's that you got from me and one of my 1203 BW's and the Blue Marvel speaker that's in the amp is just as good as the others.

Thanks for the information, Jack. By the way, the JBLs are fabulous.
