A guy in our band gave me a fender 100 pa head. Seems you gentlemen have a wealth of electronic insight and may answer a question. Is this head close in configuration to a twin reverb and if not would it be hard or expensive to convert. Looking for that tone/sound. Thanks for your input tg.

It's the same output section as a Twin Reverb. The preamp sections are not voiced the same but it'd be worth trying it out first before you decide to mod it. I'm working on one for a friend. I bought an unloaded Twin Reverb circuit board from Weber VST for about $25. You'll need to buy the components for the board and also the potentiometers as most of the pots in the PA100 are 250K. If you didn't want tremolo, you could wire one of those up for 3 guitar channels.

I don't believe that head has "mid" controls, which I consider absolutely essential. An ordinary stomp-box EQ would work wonders used with such a head!
