I'd like to upgrade to a sustain unit with an on/off switch. I'm curious to know what y'all's impressions are of the Matchbox 7A versus Mr. Hilton's unit.
I'm guessing each might have its own advantages. I'd be grateful for any feedback on the subject.

I used to use the Goodrich untill I forgot it one night and didn't miss it. It didn't really do much of anything in my opinion.

I've used both, and prefer the 7A. The unit gives me the convenience of having a tone and volume control at the guitar. If I want to slightly change the tone/volume based on a song anytime throughout a job, I have it at my finger tips instead of having to change amp settings. As far as sustain, I'm not sure that it boosts sustain (either one of the units) but it doesn't hurt. I use mine with a Hilton volume pedal and I like the convenience and the sound. |

The primary advantage of the 7A is that if you sometimes play at venues where you use someone else's amp, you can "fine-tune" your tone or settings on the fly with the 7A.

Adam,
You can add an on/off switch very easily to your Goodrich. Radio Shack has little switches that can be mounted to the top corner on your unit. That's what I did.

Goodrich match box YES
Hilton sus. tone knob is very touchy and not
effective if you like to adjust tone on the fly.
