OK guys. I'm going to take the plunge on a new 112, unless someone has one they want to part with.
Just wondering who has the best price. I imagine it is probably Bobby Seymour.Or, can you contact Mike Brown from Peavy? and buy direct?

| It would have to be Duane Dunard or Bobbe Seymour.I got mine from Duane because it was closer to me.Check them out. |

Try Mary’s Music in Dickson, Tn. I've never been inside the store, but; several years I called inquiring about the Nashville 400's at the time and her prices were very good. The only reason I didn't buy at the time was because I wanted (2) but a trade was not possible at those prices! I think an outright buy could possibly be the best buy around! Of course, I did the next best thing and went to another place and paid through the nose, as I usually do on a trade!  I'd even consider purchasing ((2))-Nashville 112's for myself, but; I have such a wonderful Amp. now that it would probably be a shame to part with it and besides that, my nose is still a little sensitive! The weight is my biggest problem now! Just don't get around much any more!

I shopped around and even with shipping I got the best price from Bobbe Seymore and got both amps in a couple of days....JH in Va.

I would hope you would go to the nearest music store with a good reputaion and buy local.
I run a retail music store but folks dont think we have a right to make a living. So they come in try it out learn all about it and then go buy from someone who will sell it for just about what it cost because they make their money off of what steel amps plug into.
I dont even try to stock a steel amp. I dont stock the Carter starter or Magnum or encourage steel teachers to teach in our school. I would like to encourage the next generation of steel players in this community but the guy that sells below MSR across the country and the Vendors that allow it with a wink and a nod put the quash on that idea.

I agree with Gordon, give your local dealers a chance to compete. That is what I did for my Nashville 112 and saved $40. Not to mention the relationship you can establish locally for future dealings.

I guess that explains why I always choose to pay through the nose! ha~ha! I like to have the friendship with a local shop! I really have no complaints, because; I usually return home with what I want!

I bought one from Bobbe last week, met the Peavey rep. while I was there.
Steel Guitar Nashville and Peavey are both great people to deal with.

Might as well give up and quit........The economy being what it is now, it is a buyers market. 5 years ago it was a different story. Consumers paid through the nose for guitars and amps. I didn't hear any whining from the music stores then. Turnabout is fair play. The ball is in the buyer's court now. Music stores have to compete to stay in business. Survival of the fittest.

You may not want to confuse whining from stating the fact of the idea of promotiing the pedal steel gutiar in a market. Music stores in for the long haul target their market. The owner here and I are both second generation in this store. Your market may be different then here in San Antonio but I have yet to see folks have to pay through the nose with the the music store competition we have here.
Yours is a common perception in my experience over the last thirty years. If it made fiscal sense to promote the steel guitar I would do in in a flash.

| every since 1983 when I started buying pedal steel guitars, amps and so on. I always think ive found a deal, and "service" but in the end for the best deals and no doubt the best " service" is Bobbe Seymour. no crap at all to deal with. and if you email and ask a price on a peavey you wont get a phone call saying " you cant do this peavey dont allow us to quote prices this way " true true story lol the price Bobbe has on his pages isnt always the actual buying price 'in some cases'. sometimes you can talk him down a little. |
