I have one of the new Gretsch 6 string lap steels. It still has the factory strings on it which are very light guage to begin with. I have dropped all the strings 1 fret to make it a B6 to match up with my pedal E9.
Can someone please tell me what kind of strings I should buy and exactly what guage would work with dropping a 1/2 step from C6 to B6.
thanks, JB

Check Bobby Lee's "String Gauge Guide" under "Articles" at the top of this website page. Scale length can make a difference, so ultimately your own ears and fingers have to be the guide.
