Who has an Evans FET 500 with a peavey James B Lansing speaker??
Is this a good marriage?

This is an excellent combination! Many of the early 80's model Evans had a JBL E-130. I had one in the large cabinet models that I regret ever selling. One of the best sounding amps I have ever had. Ray Devoe now has it.

I have two late 70's Fet-500's, one having a JBL E-130, and the other a JBL M-31. Both have a terrific sound. And While there are many excellent speakers available,I feel the JBL is superior in sound, and for me, are the standard by which all others are compared.

Andy, when I first owned your amp, I stuck an E-130 in it,an 8 ohm. It was pretty good, but needed reconing and whoever reconed it stuck a bass cone in it. I never liked the sensitivity in the highs after that and eventually went for the the Black Widow. Was quite happy with that although I played another FET 500 with an Emmminence in it. Very nice. By the way, did you ever fix the reverb in it?

I am currently running a D-130F JBL in my Evans SE-200 and it sounds great.
I also have one in the old original Session 400 and it is awesome with my D-10 p/p.

I have a 84 Evans FET500 that came new with a 4 ohm JBL E-130 and for my style and ears is the best I have ever used. I have a newer SE200 that I purchased in 1999 and came with an Evans Eclipse 15". I didn't like the Eclipse speaker so I changed it out for a 1501 15" Black Widow and the performance is much better, but not as good as the older Evans with the JBL.

I got my hands on an original JBL K130-4.
So far there has been a change for the better. Tomorrow I'll try it on a gig.
Thanks Andy
