Hey everyone,
I am in the process of adding a third neck to my Excel dbl 8, and wondered if someone could help me with a problem. The guitar is equipped with a 3 position switch which is upper neck First pos, both necks middle pos, and lower neck third pos.
The question is; can I change the wiring to include the third neck or do I need a different switch? Help!!!

If your guitar has a Gibson style switch most of those are made so you can only run two pickups (in your case two necks)with both on in the middle position. They do make a Gibson style selector switch that works with 3 pickups or three necks but you have to specify you want that type. Allparts has for sure and Stewart Macdonald might too. If you are running a fender style switch (blade)you can wire it for three pickup by jumping a different set of lugs. To get all three necks on at once you will need to install an additional switch.
