Think i might have an opportunity to get a silver face Twin and played through it yesterday and it sounded good. Don't think
the original owner used s cover very much and the grill cloth is dirty and stained. Can the Fender type grill cloth be ordered?
If i can get the amp, i want to change the grill cloth and and maybe install a new spkr
baffle. Appreciate any info you might have.

Thurlon,
Contact Brad Sarno. I believe he knows somebody in the St. Louis area who is a source for the fabric and can make a new baffle and cover it for you. |

Go on the internet and type in amplifier grill cloth. Fender has a site with just about any grill cloth they have ever used.
Also many other companies. Hope this helps |

Contact Gregg Hopkins at vintage amp restoration.

He's the leading expert and has lots of the real stuff. Re-grilling an amp baffle is NOT easy to do correctly. He's fair and amazingly skilled at it.

If you want to keep the amp in original condition -- and collector-types do have a fetish about this -- you can clean Fender grill cloth -- even the nastiest, smoke-stained kind -- with foam-type auto upholstery cleaner. May take multiple applications to lift out all the crud, but it works. |
