I'm driving to California from Virginia in October and I'll be a little pressed for space. I'd like to take both my guitar and steel guitar rig but I can't quite get my Nashville 400 in the trunk with everything else. How much smaller is the 1-12 compared to a NV400. Also has anyone out there gigged in any large clubs or outside with one of these without being miked. Can they handle a loud signal without distorting? Thanks.....JH in Va.

Jerry, first of all thanks for your support of our products. Here are the dimensions of both amplifiers;
Nashville 400-20 1/4" W x 20 1/2" H x 11 1/4"D

Nashville 112-21 3/8" W x 18 1/8" H x 10 1/4" D

Remember, the Nashville 400 can produce 210 watts and the Nashville 112 can produce 80 watts. This quite a difference especially where available headroom should be considered, ie; outdoors, etc.. If you decide to use this amp outdoors, make sure that you mic it and use the amp for monitoring purposes.

If you're playing outdoors or larger rooms without micing, put your 400 in your back seat, Jerry. That's my experience anyway. The 112 is a great little amp but it is a little amp. The 12 doesn't move as much air as a 15 and lacks the headroom a 400 can deliver.

I'm in a similar situation right now myself and am glad I brought two amps. The 112 works great as one side of a stereo setup but alone without reinforcement, it needs some help, IMHO.

Jerry, in my case, I bought the 112 for weight reasons. The size difference is minimal.
Since I am not desperate for a job with a band, I would walk away from a band that played too loud for my NV112. I have not used my NV400 since buying the 112. I have patched into the PA with the XLR output on the 112.
Jerry, you will probably drive right by my shop on I-44 on your trip. If it's in the daytime, you had better stop... I'll email you.

I went ahead and ordered a NV 1-12 from Bobbe Seymore. It should be here in a day or two. I'm going to gig with it this weekend and check it out. I think it'll handle a lot of things as I saw Randy Beavers playing one in the Peavey room at St. Louis to a full crowd and it sounded great. Jim Bob, I hope I'll be able to find somewhere to pick! My old buddy Monte Paul (drummer) said he might be able to help me out in that respect. JH in Va.

Not everything is dead in California. Life support, yes, but not quite dead.

Oh, and I'd tend to agree with Mr. Bell. Without reinforcement, outside or at a large hall/club, the NV112 comes up short.
