Hi all,
I would like to try out the Fender/Eminence speaker that is used in both of Fender's pedal steel amps. Anyone out there looking to sell theirs?

Back around the time that I bought my ’65 Re-issue Custom™ 15”, (July ’04); I heard that the Eminence 15” speaker would be available in a replacement version, before too long. You might wan to check with your Fender Dealer.

Fender does not want to sell them....and as they are OEM, you can't get them from Eminence either. Fender will only send speakers to owners of the amp as warranty replacements (sigh).
You'd think they'd want to capitalize here....the only viable options outside of Peavey's BW are the Eminence Deltalite and whatever speaker Fane makes (btw....I tried contacting Fane to find out....as well as Evans, for that matter....no reply from either). Considering how highly JBLs are praised, and rightly so, they could sell quite a few of these. But, I guess they'd rather you buy their amps.....

It's the American way of doing bidness. I bought a Rubbermaid yard/garden cart a year ago, a very large capacity model with large wheels. I overloaded it and blew out a tire. Called customer service at Rubbermaid and asked about repair or replacement:
RM: Yes sir, a new wheel is $83.00.
HS: $83.00 for ONE replacement wheel?!? The whole wheelbarrow, including BOTH wheels, was only $125.00!
RM: Yes sir, correct. We'd prefer it if you bought a new yard cart.
I thanked her for her candidness, after explaining to her that if I bought a new wheelbarrow it most certainly would NOT be a Rubbermaid. I then took the wheel to the local bicycle shop, who repaired the inner tube for a total cost of $15.75, labor included. And I'm STILL not buying Rubbermaid.
Back on topic. Go with the Black Widow. It sounds kinda like a JBL, you can get them anywhere, and recone them yourself if necessary.

Jo:
Mark Tulbert (who is a member here) had a fender twin amp w/2 12's replaced it will a JBL 15. Master control knob made a presence
out of it. It will also boost the power & Volume. & What a tone. I think he said the speaker & conversion was around $300. & it sounds so good. |

Duhhh...Let's alienate our potential customers?
(I'm sure Hartley loves that attitude.) |
