Hi Jeff, try putting a piece of paper in your strings down by the bridge and experiment with different thicknesses and placements.
I think that I remember some folks getting a sitar like sound like that as well as a banjo. It might not work but after no replys I just thought I'd try to give you and idea :-)

I believe some mentioned some time ago that a steel bar with a flat side gave you a sitar sound. |

Hey Jeff, no problem I didn't know you were a 6 stringer I am too. It was Smiley Roberts that put a piece of paper in his strings and got the banjo sound but I can't remember who did it for the sitar sound maybe Smiles will know.

Odell Martin told me he used a Dollar Bill on his guitar for a session for Bill Carlisle. But I think that was more for a muted sound of some type,
But if you knew Odell, he was a great picker and would do about anything. |

Yeah, but a dollar ain't worth as much nowadays. You might have to use two of them.

LOL ... This is Funny stuff. Bob, I play Steel and Guitar. I was hoping to find the sitar thing for guitar though. I figure a sitar sound on steel would just be ONE BAD OUT-A Tune Sounding Sitar LOL especialy if I was Playing it LOL .
I Guess No one has ever needed to have a sitar sound in their PROFEX II. BJ Thomas is probably as close as youll get country music having a sitar UH?
