I just received a Gooodrich Matchbox, which I'm using with my MSA Classic.
My gosh, what a difference! It gives me a huge range of tones from deep, cavernous bass to icepick-in-the-forehead treble. Really makes a big difference in the instrument's sound, in a good way.
Dumb question - I know I have one of the early ones, but what model is it?
All it has is a bottom input, top output, top-mounted tone control and the leg clip. Very simple and from what I hear (and I'm a tonally anal 40-year guitar player and tube amp tweaker) all I need. |

It's probably a Model 60. I have one just like it. I tried it on my Mullen but I found that when I got it set to a tone I liked it was exactly the same tone as the straight single-coil pickup, so I took it out of the loop.

Thanks Mark - I find this one at the neutral setting keeps the tone of the guitar, but adds some punch and articulation. Works well from what I can tell so far. |
