I play a gig with a buddy of mine as a duo.
He bought a new set of yamaha cabinets. The clubs we play do allow for a lot of gear so I run through the PA with my profex. We have ben using them for about a week now and I am totally impressed. We were running through SP2's. Comparitively the SP2's are not as present as the yamaha. I always encountered the horn on the SP2's to tinny for steel tone. The yamaha's a a bigger magnet on the horn. but nevermind that the 15 on the yamaha just seems tighter than the BW. Sorry for my ramble...Has anyone ever used one of yamahas speaker in a "standard" steel rig.
Last night we played at a club that is almost perfect for music. It has a high ceiling with burlap. ( I swear a musician built this club!) Anyway, my tone last night was as close to nirvana as i have been in a long while. It was awesome!!!
Just my thoughts and curiosities!

Yamaha uses the same drivers as Meyer Sound but without the extra processing, so they should sound good! I used a pair of their SM12IV wedges (12" LF and 1.6" HF passive)with my stereo rack rig for several gigs before I got the Randall amp that I'm using now, the smoothest highs I have ever heard, short of the TAD's $1600 2" drivers. Even the floor wedges come standard with pole pockets for mounting on a stand, I use them with 18" subs for a nice small full-range PA.

We bought a dozen of them for our production company at about $300 each, definitely the most bang for the buck out there.
