My Hartke 2000 is having intermittent problems, so I tried plugging my Session 400 (which I have separated from the original Peavey cabinet and made into a "head")into the 15 inch speaker I use for bass...it totally rocks! Lots of power and the EQ is just as versatile as the graphic on the Hartke. Is there any reason I shouldn't use this amp for bass?

Nope. It's the open back cabinet design that doesn't work very well for bass guitar. But, since you made a separate cabinet, it will work.
