I'm looking for something to handle the low end on the C6th. Mainly the low C to A drop on the 8th pedal. The 15" speakers in all three of my amps won't handle it with lows turned up where I like them. Would it be possible to add a cabinet as a extra speaker with a 18" speaker to try and carry the lows. I don't use the C to A drop a lot but sometimes I use it on songs like Night Life and Hold It. Anybody know what Curly Chalker used for his amps?

You need a large sealed cabinet, preferably with two good fifteens for high volume/low end. Then you can kick that boo-wah pedal and get everyone's attention! Open-back cabinets just don't do the C6th bottom-end justice.

What kind of volume pedal are you using? A powered pedal can overload most amps, causing a distortion problem at high volumes. Make sure that's not your problem.

Billy...the one and only time i saw Curly play live..he used one of the early session 400's...on his "More Ways To Play" LP...he also has a Session 400 on the cover..When i heard Curly play..seemed like he was flooded in bottom end...no special cab that i could see. But if you are going to have a "Dedicated" speaker for Just your bottom end, i would look into the possibility of needing a crossover, with a limiter, and a compressior, wouldn't hurt either..a rack mount crossover, would insure, your highs don't come out of the 18 cab. Now you would have to ask one of the guys on here, that know, just MY thought is all...
