Words cannot describe the difference in tone this unit makes. I play through a solid state amp,and my tone went from thuddy, shrill, middy, to silky smooth.Every note punched out with a warm rich and full sound. I consider this unit to be my very best friend, and I will never leave home without it.Thanks Brad Sarno for your major contribution to the steel guitar world. |

You just gotta love what tubes can do for steel! Thanks for the kind words Mike.

Hi Brad,
I am still using the Black Box for all of my studio work. I love the clarity and subtle difference that it adds. I look forward to seeing you in Dallas.

I used the Black Box for a few jobs on the road, and dearly loved it. What I'm wondering if there are any plans of incorporating the electronics into a tube pre-amp with EQ controls and such. That would eliminate another step in the chain if you're using a rack mout pre-amp and power amp.

I also use the black box on my acoustic guitars. It makes an acoustic pickup less brittle and more natural sounding. And it's just killer on my '51 Fender Deluxe 6 lap and it's butter on my '66 bolt-on p/p.
