I have an E-66 in my push-pull that when Ipush the gas on it it squeals. Would it be microphonic? I am guessing yes. I have a 7-10 in the other neck and am having no problem. Also does anybody know the warranty life on an E-66?

I can't believe nobody has any info on E-66 pick-ups. I have been told everybody on here eats drinks and sleeps steel guitar and everything involved with it.

Craig, I tried an E-66 on my Carter and it was way too bright for me. I never had any problem with it but changed it out for a 10-1.

How old is the E66? Was it ever exposed to heat (like in the trunk of a car in summer) for an extended period of time? (Like all day).
What can happen is, if it's a potted/wax-dipped pickup, the wax can soften up enough to run out of the windings, and become microphonic. I haven't seen one (e66) yet, but if it is indeed wax-dipped, it can usually be re-dipped. If warranty or manufacturer repair is not an option, contact Jason Lollar. Jason can fix ANY pickup, or I'm a bearded gnome.

Andy is he in Wisconsin? I think my E-66 just went bad, and the other one the leads are too short on. I'll try to reach him and see. Thanks

Craig, the GL's have some type of black epoxy, asphalt looking stuff that completely seals the inards in the housing..I dont know if there wax potted or not but in my opinion, its impossible to do much of anything with them including wax potting after they are sealed with the black stuff..I dont think even Jason can do much with it.To get inside you will have to destory the pickup.

Andy , how did the special pickup I built for you work out?

Marty, send me the bucks for one. Money is short now. I intend to get my single coils rewound by Jerry and put them in. I have a 710 that I got from a friend in there now. I realize that the TT's are the way to go. I had those two E-66's and was trying to find a solution.
