No. I was looking for something low priced for a backup. I know some use a Ernie Ball and they're not real expensive either.
Thanks for your reply Donny, I always enjoy reading your post.

I tried one of these pedals several years ago and found it to be a very poor choice for pedal steel. The volume goes from off to full in less than one inch of travel. For an inexpensive backup, I would try DeArmand or Ernie Ball. Only problem with Ernie Ball is the height.

I recommend a Hilton and no backup is needed.

I have a Morley with a knob on it to control the sweep. Super low profile and battery operated, so you don't lose any tone on the way down. I still prefer my Sho-bud rackmount, though. I can't stand the Ernie Balls.

I also have a Morley similar to Brians. it has a knob to control travel, and is battery operated also.
I've used this pedal for 25yrs, it's been a good one!

Anybody have any idea what the potentiometer is for that travel knob and how/where it's wired in? I have been using a small thin black morley that sounds great but would like to have that travel control knob.

I got this pedal for free and it was basically unusable because of the almost instant on factor of the swell. So I created my own custom shutter out of black electrical tape and cutting a narrower V shape than the original had. Amazing difference.

If anyone is interested there is a post on youtube that shows a "fix" for the on/off character of the morley pedal. Type Scott Grove Morley if you want to view it. Looks pretty simple to do and involves reshaping the plastic slot.

I tried the "little alligator" pedal as a demo at a show. The pedal operated fine and did not "discolor" the sound of the guitar, but I did not like how "high" it raised my the back of my ankle when depressed. It forced my knee up into the guitar to far for my tastes.
