I have a guy here who can do the work but I need the battery size and schen's if possible. I am not worried about warrenty being as I have had this one since 1996 i think. appreciate the help.

Hey Smiley.....
You beat me out of a major repair job for you. I was gonna charge you $100.00 for the battery and a $1,000.00 to put it in the unit. Now, My dog is gonna go hungry, I won't be able to make the next payment on my Rolls-Royce. In fact, I think I may have to file for bankrupcy now.
[BTY] I'll buy the other battery from you if you would sell it. Mine's lookin a bit rought nowadays. Bring it to the NTSGA meeting on the 2nd at "SteamBoats Bill's".
Next for all you other Steelers, ........
You need to turn on the "Profex II" at least for a couple of hours every month or two and let it "cook". You don't need to actually be playing it or anything but just so that the battery sees the b+ from the power supply regulator. The battery in the "Profex II" isn't really a rechargeable device but in reality, there is a voltage higher than 3 volts applied to the battery that keeps it at a potention higher than 3 volts for the duration the P/s is being used. This will prolong the life of the battery. If the "Profex isn't turned on for 6 months or so,the chances that the battery will be weak/dead is very good.
Also, the same advice is for the ram-card. The ram-card has "CR-2016" (very thin) battery in it. when in-serted into the "Profex II", it too is supplied with a voltage a bit more than the 3 volt needed to keep the data alive.
I have use this theory for industrail and consumer gear. The battery in my "Profex II" and ram-card is almost 10 years in service. I do check it for leakage twice a year. A tooth brush will most times cleanup any problems around the battery and copper runs.

Ah, Nickel Cadmium batteries are rechargable... thats the whole point of using them.

Does this mean I should leave my cache cards plugged in for a while, once in a while? |
