Topic: Pre EQ vs Post EQ On Nashville 1000 |

| Just purchased a Nashville 1000 Wednesday and have some questions. I have a Boss DD3 I will be using. What is the best way to hook it up? Is one patch better than the other? What are the recommended settings you guys use? I have been using a Nashville 400 and I notice the 1000 has better lows. Any info would be appreciated. |

The basic point if I understand your question is this.
What do you want to eq.
The total sound of your instrument AND the effect.
ie the steel goes to the DD3 no eq, and then you ajust the total signal
OR
EQ the instrument it's self and then that EQ'd sound is effected.
Pre EQ the DD3 and the instrument are eq'd
Post and the steel is eq'd, but then that sound goes to the natural DD3 |

| I believe Peavey recommends using the post EQ for effects and the pre EQ for your volume pedal. |

| David, I would like to know how to hook up the cords for both EQ's. I was not aware that could be done if I am understanding you right. I ran out of the volume pedal to the high input and used the Post EQ with the DD3 to the patch. I sure do not want to mess anything up so any help would certainly be appreciated. |

After talking to Mike Brown, who gave me instructions on the proper hookup, which is
as follows. Guitar to amp, pre eq to pedal & back to pre eq, post eq for effects unit, my
1000 sounds much better. |

| That is correct. The reason why the effect is connected post eq is because you want the eq of the amp to "color" the effects processor. |

| I hooked up my steel the way Melvin and Mike suggested and it does make a difference in the sound. This Nashville 1000 has so much power it is unreal and the reverb is out of this world. Thanks guys for the help. |
