Hello, can anyone explain what the difference is between the Goodrich Super Sustain Matchbox and any other typical sustainer pedal, like for instance the Boss CS-3 Compression/sustainer?
Thanks y'all!

If I'm not mistaken, the Goodrich is a buffer amp, which matches the impedance to lower the noise and signal loss from cords and other stompboxes. Helps get more bite and keeps the high frequencies intact.
A compression/sustain pedal does so by squashing the peaks on the signal... the compression gives the impression of additional sustain.
For what it's worth, I don't really fell like the goodrich adds "sustain", but it does have a benefit to the sound you get, and you can get more volume without getting much noise from cables and Volume Pedal. |
