What amp would you recommend to replace my old Session 500? I want something similar - really powerful and with a clean sound. Lower weight is good but not necessary.
Any suggestions?

Anders, if you are looking for a used amp, Nashville 400 or Vegas 400 can not be beat. I have one of each and have a hard time deciding on which one I like best. The Vegas does have 2 channels so if you play 6 string, it comes in handy.

Nashville 1000, they are dependable, reasonably priced, have plenty of power,(300 watts digital) good 3 spring reverb, lighter in weight and great product support from Peavey, especially Mike Brown.

Yep ! a PV Nash1000
Best Bang 4 the $
this amp was'nt produced in a export version
(220v)
mine runs w: an external transformer and does just fine.
it can be modified to run on 220v. i know a few that have done it.
there are more Nash1000s in Europa than you would think.
i had 3 sent over. they are all doin' well

Thanks a lot, everybody!
I think I incline towards the Nashville 1000 and a Deltafex. Is that a good combination? (I guess that Deltafex must be an improved Profex.)
CrowBear: Do you have some special solution for adapting US stuff to 220V? (There are several standard transformers on the swedish market that works without problems as far as I've heard.)

Anders, the guys i know in the UK are the ones that got this Nash1000 thang goin'here in Europa.
they change the transformer in the amp so it will run on 220v
(i've got the info on that if you want)
since i had a external transformer hangin' round, i decided to go w:it and have'nt had a prob since.
i just made sure the amp was grounded properly cause my transformer is only 2 pronged.
so i have 2 plugs: one for 110v and 1 for Earth
i decided to go w: the PV Nash1000 when i read here that Michael Johnston was usin'one while playin'in Macedonia, and Yugoslavia.
if it ran over there, i figured one would do fine here.
and mine has

I agree... The Nashville 400 or 1000 would be good... The only problem with the Nashville 400 is I dont think they make them anymore so you would have to get a used one. If you do not mind they would be a great amp! I just got a Nashville 112... I like it for practice. I would say some of the best steel guitar amps are the Peavey Nashville series ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif) [This message was edited by Ryan Giese on 30 January 2004 at 08:32 PM.] |
