Anyone have experience with this model recorder? Can you patch external effects into each channel? Can you transfer all channels to a larger unit or pro studio for mixing?
Thanks
Dennis

Dennis, yes I have owned one for about 2 years and have used it for some very nice projects.

BUT...

NO external effects loop

Possibly yes on the transfer of files. Roland has a free conversion wave file program available which can be used to transfer files individually to a PC ..I have never used it.

What I see as the most practicle way to do this is to MIDI this machine with another workstation and send the tracks over 1 at a time with the digital out link using no effects.

This is a fine little machine for it's intended purpose when it came out I suspect about 4 or 5 years ago which was for an individual musician /guitar player to build songs alone by layering tracks.

Although I have upgraded to a new more "Capable" workstation I have kept the BR8 and use it for practicing both the Steel and Guitar.
