I bought a evans amp last week. This week end i thought i would take it to the gig and try it out.I have been using a rack system consisting of a mosvalve 1500,proflexII,Blues tube, and 2 15" BW 1501-4. I started out with the evnas amp and never played through the rack system the rest of the weekend. It is a fantastic amp.And i learned something while using it about reverb. You can use to much!!! This is the setting i used on the evans amp.
Both volume were on 5 the reverb was on 4 the bass was on 5 the body at 6.5 and the treble was at 2 the boost and expand was off. i know the treble seems low but it sound super fantastic. This amp is a keep for me.Oh this is the older amp the one in the large cab.i think it is a 85 model.because the ser # is #8527.Anyone have any suggestions on other setting i would like to know. |

Dan, They are great amps. I have two; a 1982 and a 1985. The older one made in Texarkana sounds slightly better than the newer one.
I use the following setting:
Plug into input #2
Master 3
Reverb 4-5
Depth up
Expand up
Bass 7-8
Body 7-8
Treble 2
Volume 2
Let me know what you think. |
