I travel quite a bit and my job requires I use a lap top,,,,I also take one of my steels but there is not enough room to take an amp. Sooo I use an e-studio,,,just barely better than nothing. I'm wondering if there might be a computer program or ? that I could plug my headphones into my laptop roland soundcard and,,,,,. I mean with all the little electronic gadgets out there,,,there must be something. Anyone have any suggestions???? |

Sonny, the Genesis 3 has a good earphone out and in stereo I believe, but needs ac, and a real good signal processer to the amp, all the effects and eq you could ask for |

Sonny,
Get yourself a Behringer VAMP2...It's like a Line 6 Pod but much cheaper...You can use it with headphones, and you can also plug it into an amp for use as a pre/effects unit ...They're only about $140 brand new, and have many amp models, and many effects , that sound great for both guitar, and pedal steel ...They only measure about 12"X 6" X 2" or so ...Good quality sound for portable use and for using with any amp...Jim |

You might want to try a Korg Pandora....slightly bigger than a pack of cigarettes....loads of effects, runs on AA's.Pretty good sound.

I tried a Korg Pandora,,,,loads of effects for guitar but I need a clean sound with just a bit of reverb/delay. It sounds like a more expensive version of my e-studio. Where could I find a Behringer????? I probably should just bring my TranstubeFex with me when I travel but I'd like to have something smaller. I agree with James. The Behringer V-Amp 2 is the best bang for the buck by far. It really sounds great and does much of what the more expensive POD does. It even comes with it's own travel case.

Sonny, I used to be in a similar situation and carried my little Pignose 5 watt amp with me. It's surprising how good it sounds even at low volume. A plus is that it will run on AA batteries, or plug it into AC.
