I just acquired a '74 pp. I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether these pickups are single coil or humbuckers? Also, what does the tone switch do? I am gathering so far that on one setting (right), the tone control works, on the other setting (left), the tone control is off and the pickup is fully open. Right?

If the guitar is original, the pick-ups are probably single coils. If you push on the volume pedal and they hum a little they are single coils. You have the tone thing figured out.
