I would like to ask for anyone's help if possible. Does anyone know if there is a major difference in the circuitry of the Hot Rod Deluxe and the Hot Rod Deville, other than one has 40 watts and the other has 60 watts and of course one has 1 12" speaker and the other has 2 12's or 4 10's?
Thanks very much in advance.
Gene

Please let me rephrase this thread. Is there a definate difference in the Sound of the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and the Deville, could someone please help me out? I guess what I'm trying to find out is , are they basically the same Sound , or do they each have their own distinctive sound?
Thanks
Gene

Gene, there is a difference. The Deville has more output power, different speaker configurations. I would prefer the Deville, even for guitar, over the Deluxe. The Deluxe is a fine amp, but the Deville is a tighter more powerful sounding amp. I believe the Deluxe is 40 watts and the Deville is 60 watt. Both use 6L6GC/5881 tubes. The Deville would have higher plate voltages and hence more headroom.
I have schematices for the Blues Deluxe and Deville amps. Their wattage was 38 watt and 58 watts. Plate B+ was 425VDC and 468 VDC. The Hot Rod series are very similar amps.
