Does anyone know if there are any "Original" Fender Twin Reverbs, 135 Watts RMS, silverfaced, with a master volume, no red knobs and with and ultralinear output transformer and either 2 12's or 1 15", preferably JBL's for sale out there? If so, where and how much? I know this is asking a lot, but just maybe someone has one they want to get rid of. Please e-mail me at
brown@northwestel.net
Thanks Guys
Gene

I've seen several good ones sold this year for $500-$750. That's a lot of cash, but at least you're getting something that will hold it's value. Older tube amps also have the benefit of being able to be "tailored" to provide a particular sound or desired power. I've seen some SF T/R's selling for as low as $350, but they needed re-tubing and speakers, and maybe some cosmetic work, so you're right back at close to $700. But if that's the sound you want, it's worth it.

Hey Gene,
Might want to cast this line over in Buy and Sell. I know a local place in Chicago that always has some old Twins..."Midwest Buy and Sell". Oh, the irony. I don't think they have a website, though. You can get their phone# off the net. I traded my minty 135w Twin Reverb to them last spring. I doubt if it's still there. Good luck!

Brian
