I'm about to start a new show here in Naples, and the MD wants steel, electric AND acoustic guitar from me.

My 1947 000-18 Martin has a simple 'bug' pick-up affixed inside the guitar near the bridge. It has no pre-amp.

Could anyone suggest how I'd set about 'writing' in a suitable patch on my Profex? I mean: what sort of EQ and level settings? It's difficult to get away from the bass-heaviness of some of the steel guitar presets, although I wouldn't mind a little touch of colour from reverb or delay to enhance the signal that I'll be sending to the sound guy.

Would it be easier to start anew, or to 'edit' one of the steel sounds on the Newman card?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have....

I haven't tried programming the Profex II for electric/acoustic guitar. But, I think that I would start with just the eq(3B or 4B or 5B), then add the effects later. I believe that it will be most difficult to get the "acoustic" sound that you want first. Effects are just that, effects. But, you can add those later.

To my knowledge, there is not an ecoustic guitar program to start with. Sorry

Roger........

You may want to check out some of the "B" pre-sets of the "Profex II". It seems to me that they are more for 6-string guitars than steel. If you have to roll your patch, I would find one of the "B" patches that was kinda close to what I wanted and then tweak it some.
