A while ago I posted a question about treble loss in cables, or when turning down the volume knob on a guitar. Have any of you noticed a difference when switching to George L cable, or the new cable from Bill Lawrence?

I tried George L's 2 years ago, and have since replaced all my old 1/4" cables. I noticed a difference. Guitars and studio stuff. No going back for me. They are low capacitance cables, very affordable, and you can make any length you want. Color coded sleeves also.

One man's opinion.

There's a big difference. Both cables are miles above a regular guitar cable in their high end response. It's quite noticable if your amp can reproduce the high end.

I also notice that Bill Lawrence is slightly less microphonic than George L's. This makes no difference if the cable isn't moving (as when used with steel or in a rack), but it could be a factor for guitar players.

Of course, if your cables suck and you decide to replace them with premium, quality cables, you will probably notice a difference, no matter which premium brand you choose. It's unfair to compare quality cables with regular duty or older cables in possible dubious condition.

One needs to compare quality premium cable with other brands of quality premium cable. Then I think, the differences will be minimal, or even people might disagree about which brand is best.

People, think about durability too; don't we have anything better to spend our hard-earned money on than cables?

Mr Harris asked a question.

I do my best to answer a question, not judge someone for asking it.

Don't you have something better to do?

I always knew there was a big difference in
cables & my capacitance meter only confirmed
what I was hearing. If you measure hot to
ground it will read just like there is a
capacitor right across it. The George L's
win, hands down!
