I thought my Legrande 2, RV-3, Matchbox, and Nash 1000, sounded good until i replaced the Matchbox with this KS20 Kickinsteel impedence matching device. This little critter is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and also clips to the leg of my steel. Provides a cleaner tone, note separation, and really made the warm sound come alive. The device has gain and tone controls, off/on toggle switch, and an LED power on/off reminder. All Powered by a 9 volt battery. If you'd like more info, email ol Wayne Brown at Out West Pac Seats up in Calgary, Canada , and he'll splain it all to ya. His email is www.outwestpacseat.ca/

All right! A J-fet steel preamp! Yee Haa!!

The J-fet is the transistor that made the old Session 400 and the Evans Hi-voltage pre so sweet sounding. I bet this little box sounds great.

i'm glad you like it skip ...i'm using the ks-30 which is the same matchbox and also a steel driver and as it's been said it makes your guitar sit up and take notice...if any body needs info on these as for price and units available ...go to www.kickinsteel.com and do a check it out thing ...if you have any other questions i would be happy to try and answer them as stew has just had eye surgury and can't get to the computer right yet...also if you would like one of these niffy units the price is on the formentioned web site (plus shipping of coarse )...and i have a bunch of these in stock at our shop...and i'm almost sure you won't be disappointed with these units...i'm not and now skip to...and so on....and so on...and so on
thanks

Hi Skip. I am very glad you like it!
I have a dobro simulator in the works. Still very much in the design stage though.
Thanks,
Stew (www.kickinsteel.com)

Stew, hope you are recovering nicely from your eye surgery, i'm sure it has to be very frustrating at times to wait on the healing process.
I really have enjoyed the little Kickin impedence matching device. Sure has improved the tone of my sound. Hope you can come up with something bionic to implant in my brain to make me a REAL steel guitarist . Best wishes, God bless you and yours-----Skip
