Does anyone remember the ice cube, a lttle device, that connected the reverb in- and output at least on a Fender Princeton and how it worked ?

What I remember was that it fit on any Fender tube amp, plugged into the reverb send and return jacks. It converted the reverb knob to a distortion knob. This was in the early 70's as I recall, advertised in Guitar Player Magazine. Price was about $20.
I have also seen guitar players put 100' of cable between the reverb send and return jacks, and bypass the reverb tank, to get a distortion effect.
And they also advertised a SuperIceCube, that had a slide or knob that would let you split the signal, 0-100% to reverb and 100-0% to distortion. This was about $60. |

If I recall correctly, the ice cube was nothing more than a coupel resistors (one to giv e the proper load to the reverb transformer, 2 to provide a voltage divider to the return so as not to give TOO much signal, and a coupel clipping diodes in between for some fuzzzz |
