Bob, the yellow compression indicator light will only be lit when the amp is overdriven. Usually when playing at very high volumes. I also use a Vegas400 one of the best amps PV made IMHO. Enjoy the amp. Marty... |

Bob, I don't use the footswitch either, but I think it switches the reverb on and off. Maybe someone else will reply who uses the switch. Marty... |

A lot of amps have a power-on "transient thump". I would tend to think the compressor (Peavey's patented DDT, Distortion Detection Technique) is providing a momentary protection at the instant the amp powers up. [This message was edited by Ken Fox on 16 March 2003 at 04:54 PM.] |

The footswitch is for the reverb, I never have used it...no channel switching, two clean channels, great for two instruments!! One of the most versatile amps ever made. I am sure Peavey will mail you a hard copy of the manual. |

Bob, you probably have a speaker problem as this is one of the things that cause the DDT(Distortion Detection Technique) light to remain lit. Try another speaker or try cleaning the gap in the internal Black Widow speaker. Otherwise, a tech will have to benchtest it for you.
I'll be glad to mail you a copy of the operating guide if you call me or list your mailing address. I'll even provide a toll free number for you, ie; 1-877-732-8391.
